Purpose:

Too many worksites focus on “harassment prevention.” Engaged, supportive and vibrant organizations create workplaces where everyone can thrive. In this workshop, you will focus on creating a safe and supportive work environment for everyone.

Learning Objectives:

• Test your current knowledge regarding sexual harassment, workplace violence and discrimination in the workplace
• Review the history of sexual, other discrimination legislation
• Look at your current organization policy regarding harassment, violence and discrimination
• Recognize the legal definition and conditions of sexual harassment
• Identify the losses to the company, the victim, and the harasser of harassment and violence in the workplace
• Identify harassing, bullying and violent behavior
• Select actions that you can take to prevent harassment situations
• Learn strategies to confront a harasser in the workplace
• Identify the legal responsibilities and liabilities of supervisors

Skills You Will Learn: 

• Identifying sexual and other harassing behaviors
• Spotting bullying behavior and stopping it
• Knowing when to intervene and how
• Defining sexual harassment and conditions
• Implementing day to day prevention strategies

Instructor: Tedra Cobb, Tedra L. Cobb and Associates

Tedra L. Cobb is the president and owner of Tedra L. Cobb and Associates focusing on employee and management training in effective hiring practices, performance management and supervisory leadership, sexual harassment prevention, time management, customer service and professionalism, problem solving and decision making and communications. Ms. Cobb’s specific areas of expertise are program and organizational development and the presentation of highly effective, interactive educational workshops. Ms. Cobb holds a M.S. Ed. in Instructional Technology, specializing in Training and Development, from the State University of New York at Potsdam.
