Employee Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
Engaged, supportive, and vibrant organizations create workplaces where everyone can thrive. In this workshop, participants will explore the issues and impact of sexual and other harassment on the workplace. Participants will focus on prevention and intervention through looking at current NYS law and organization policies regarding harassment and discrimination and through recognizing the legal definition and conditions of sexual harassment, identifying losses to the company, and understanding the legal responsibilities and liabilities of management, staff and the organization. Finally, participants will learn strategies to create a safe, supportive and respectful work environment for everyone.

Speaker: Tedra Cobb, Tedra Cobb & Associates
Tedra L. Cobb is the president and owner of the consulting firm Tedra L. Cobb and Associates where her specific areas of expertise are program and organizational development and the presentation of highly effective, interactive educational workshops. Tedra holds a M.S. Ed. in Instructional Technology, specializing in Training and Development, from the State University of New York at Potsdam. Her professional experience is diverse, ranging from bi-lingual counseling (Spanish) in the NY State prison system to directing a community-based health coalition and teaching English as a Second Language in the community and as adjunct faculty. She was a Candidate for Congress and served as an elected St. Lawrence County Legislator. She was an appointed Member in the NY State Committee on Open Government and the Northern NY Healthcare Redesign Commission. She has served on many non-profit boards and community coalitions. She lives in Canton with her husband, Scott Shipley, a solar energy installer. She has two children, Ansel, a Manager of a farm to table butcher shop in Brooklyn, NY and Aida, a junior at Cornell University. The common thread throughout her career and her professional and volunteer work has been building community.
