Free Drum Composter Contest Open for the North Country
AdkAction's Compost for Good (CfG) team is thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity for a local entity (farm, restaurant, school, township, etc.) to become an In-vessel, Rotating Drum Composter Site Host!
As part of a USDA Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG), the selected entity will receive a 4'x20' rotating drum composter. This is your chance to showcase sustainable composting practices and inspire others to join the movement!
Proposals are due by midnight on August 15th, and the site host will be selected on August 18th. Don't miss this incredible opportunity to make a positive impact on your community and the environment!
To be eligible, your entity must:
Be operating the compost system within 4 months of receipt
Operate within Franklin, Lewis, Jefferson, Essex, Clinton, or St. Lawrence County
Cover shipping costs from the manufacturer in DePeyster, NY
Complete recommended site preparation and obtain necessary permits, licenses, and approvals
Participate in a composter operator training program or provide proof of prior participation
Provide liability insurance naming AdkAction as additionally insured
Assume liability for all operations
Maintain and repair the system at your expense for a minimum of 4 years
Be willing to provide data and host tours to interested entities, with support from the CfG team
