CHAMBER LAUNCHES NEW RECRUITMENT WEBSITE
The North Country Chamber of Commerce has relaunched its recruitment and relocation website following an extensive redesign and updating. Called "NORTH COUNTRY GOOD LIFE", the website is available at www.northcountrygoodlife.com as well as via a link on the North Country Chamber website at www.northcountrychamber.com.
"Area employers such as our hospitals and colleges have always actively recruited talent from outside the area, but now our large and growing community of international manufacturers are making it more important than ever to support successful recruitment and relocation from all over the country and world," states Garry Douglas, North Country Chamber President. "We believe our reengineered relocation site is especially comprehensive in terms of information on things important to people considering a life changing relocation decision, from quality of life to the economy to such considerations as schools, services for family members with special needs, elder care for trailing parents, and faith and diversity, among other subjects."
The website plays strongly off of the Plattsburgh area's proximity to Montreal, the Adirondacks and Vermont while also extolling all of the assets and attractions of the community and immediate area. In addition to being available on-line for both recruiters and prospective employees, the Chamber is encouraging area employers and employment services to create direct links on their own websites and to point prospective applicants and candidates to the site so they can learn more about the area.
Douglas points to Susan Matton, V.P. for Economic Development, and Joel Wood, Director of NAmTrans, for leading the project along with web consultants Boire Benner Group. He also extends the Chamber's appreciation to State Senator Betty Little and Assemblyman Billy Jones for securing the funding support needed to make the new site a reality. The site will be periodically updated and enhanced in the future to keep it fresh and helpful. By the end of the year, the Chamber will also be launching a new economic development and foreign direct investment website, aimed at prospective businesses and investor.
