The National Swimming Pool Foundation's CPO® Course, aka Pool School will be presented by Bob Richards, Pool & Spa Rx. This course includes new chapters and updated information that is vital to the Pool/Spa Operator.

Some of the course material includes:

  • Pool Water Contamination
  • Chemical Feed and Control
  • Keeping Records
  • Water Testing & Adjustment
  • Pool & Spa Management
  • Heating and Air Circulation
  • Regulations and Guidelines
  • Disease & Accident Prevention

The CPO® Course is an intensive 14-16 hours of instruction, followed by an open book/open notes exam, and is recognized in all states that require certification of Pool/Spa Operators. You will earn your certification as a Pool/Spa Operator with a grade of 74% or better on the exam (37/50 questions right). This certification is valid for five years from the date of your exam.

About this course: The registration fee includes the NSPF® Certified Pool/Spa Operator Handbook, all instructional materials and handouts, your exam, and upon passing the exam, and your certification. You must be in attendance both days and present a valid photo I.D. in order to take the course and the exam at the end of day two.

You will need: Since the test is an open book/open notes test, note taking and organization are extremely important. We recommend that you bring a 'hi-liter' pen to mark up your textbook, so you can easily locate information during the test. It is also important that you bring a calculator and your picture id with you. Much of the course involves calculations, such as surface area, pool volume, and chemical adjustments. You will do much better if you have a calculator that you are familiar with, as opposed to using one of our “loaners”.

This Course is 14-16 hours long. NOTE: Schedule subject to adjustment dependent upon class progress.
